Agriturismo Montepulciano Palazzo dei Diavoli: where nature and relaxation feel like home
Welcome to Palazzo dei Diavoli, nestled among vineyards and olive groves in the heart of Tuscany. We’re one of the closest agriturismos to the charming village of Montepulciano, just a short stroll from the stunning San Biagio Church.
It’s the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a relaxing escape with friends — where you can enjoy the slower pace of life in the countryside, surrounded by nature, history, and authenticity.
Choose between Suite, Rooms and Apartment
Take a break from the everyday rush. Fall asleep in a calming atmosphere, where silence, warm colors, vintage finds and modern touches blend together.
At our farmhouse, every space has been designed for your comfort and well-being. The rooms feature natural colors and fabrics, and we’ve given a second life to objects from the past to create a welcoming style that’s both traditional and contemporary.
At Palazzo dei Diavoli, we offer a suite (50 Special), an apartment (Sidecar) and two double rooms (500 and Apino). All accommodations come with Wi-Fi, and you can connect from the outdoor areas too — all while soaking up the view.
We chose the names of our rooms from the heart — because we believe that the best way to experience Tuscany is to wake up among the rolling vineyards, then explore the white country roads on vintage wheels, reconnecting with the land through the slow rhythm of the road.

Discover our Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
In the heart of Tuscany, among the hills of Montepulciano, we produce our very own Palazzo dei Diavoli Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil — an ICEA-certified excellence born from passion and deep respect for nature.
Our olives are hand-picked early, in the first days of October, while still green and rich in aroma. They’re cold-pressed at the renowned Armellini Mill in Pienza, a place that honors the traditional ways of oil making.
The result? A limited-edition olive oil, with extraordinary purity and a bold character. Its intense green fruitiness brings out the best in every dish, striking a perfect balance between freshness and richness.
Every drop tells the story of a unique land, where tradition meets true quality.
Taste the soul of Tuscany in every bottle.

What to do in Montepulciano in a day?
Montepulciano is a charming hilltop village full of history, art, and stunning views. Overlooking both the Valdichiana and Val d’Orcia, it’s famous worldwide for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
It may be small, but within its ancient walls, there’s so much to see and do.
If it’s your first time here, don’t miss Piazza Grande, the heart of the historic center — completely pedestrian — with the Duomo, Town Hall, and the noble palaces of Contucci, Nobili-Tarugi, and the Capitano family.
Climb the 15th-century civic tower for breathtaking views, and check out the Medici Fortress, dating back to the 1200s. Today, it hosts a wine shop where you can taste some of the area’s best wines.
A must-see in Montepulciano are its many historic wine cellars, some of which are underground, like those of De Ricci and Contucci, right beneath Piazza Grande.
You should also visit the Saint Biagio Church, one of the masterpieces of Renaissance architecture, designed by Antonio da Sangallo. Built from golden travertine to house a beloved image of the Madonna. A must-stop to soak up all the charm and history Montepulciano has to offer (and Palazzo dei Diavoli is just a short stroll away!)
Montepulciano and the surrounding area also host amazing events all year round. Don’t miss:
-
Bravio delle Botti (barrel racing through town!)
-
Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte
-
Calici di Stelle
-
Bruscello Poliziano

The history of the Devils' Palace
Back in the 1600s, nestled among the gentle hills of Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, stood two twin farmhouses, both owned by the Church. Although close in distance, destiny gave them very different paths.
In one of these homes lived a group of clergymen who weren’t exactly known for their devotion. Their lifestyle was far from spiritual, leaning more toward earthly pleasures. This scandalous behavior earned them the nickname “the devils.”
Legend has it that, to distance them from the rest of the community, they were sent to the more remote of the two farmhouses — which became known as the Palazzo dei Diavoli, or “Palace of the Devils.”
Who we are
Sometimes, the courage to take a big leap — one you've had in your heart for a long time — comes at just the right moment.
My husband and I have three children. One year, all three started something new: one in elementary school, one in middle school, and one in high school. That was our sign.
We said to ourselves: “It’s now or never.”
Thanks to the freedom to work remotely, we left the chaos of Rome behind and moved to the countryside — looking for a slower pace and a simpler way of life.
Here, we found a place to truly savor life’s simple pleasures. A place to slow down and appreciate time — surrounded by authentic experiences and breathtaking landscapes.
